If you read my last email— Curious.Conscious.Change. — will look familiar to you.
More on that later in this post.
I have concluded that movement is the #1 way of generating ideas.
The idea to start Thoughts From A Bench sparked while I was walking.
The question that led me to make wholesale life changes arrived while I was jogging around a park.
The latest eureka moment occurred while I was out for a run last Friday.
It goes like this:
The Curious Act
Curiosity connects to consciousness.
Consciousness creates change.
When you express curiosity — you connect to consciousness.
Once you become conscious i.e. aware — you create the environment for change to occur.
At the epicentre of curiosity and consciousness lies change.
Without curiosity, you remain unaware aka unconscious.
Without awareness, change cannot be made.
Curiosity is the key to your ignition.
It’s your job to turn the key.
By turning the key of curiosity — you spark the engine of consciousness.
When the engine of awareness ignites — you can move in whatever direction you like.
The path ahead will be clear.
Once the engine is fired up — it’s your responsibility to keep it moving.
How do you do this?
Stay curious.
Curiosity is both the key to your ignition and the fuel that keeps your stream of consciousness flowing to drive the change you desire.
The moment you begin to run out of fuel — is the moment your connection to consciousness begins to stutter.
Let the tank run dry and now you’ve come to a halt.
In other words — you become unconscious.
I don’t want to create an impression that I’m some woke guy with it all figured out.
As always — this newsletter is a note to myself.
The next time you have a challenge that feels like you’re banging your head against a wall — apply more curiosity.
Struggling to spark curiosity?
Go for a walk.
Seems to work for me every time. Let me know if it works for you.
Update
Last Friday, I sent an email with a different style to the typical Thoughts From A Bench newsletter.
It came in the form of:
Curious
Conscious
Change
The point of this email is to connect the dots.
On a walking break — I realized that curious, conscious, change would make for a fantastic addition to my arsenal.
Another great idea while moving.
If you’re not sold at this point on getting out for a walk — I don’t know how else to convince you.
‘Curious.Conscious.Change.’ will be issued weekly on Fridays.
The point of the newsletter is to:
Spark curiosity
Encourage mindfulness
Inspire & empower change
Well-being is at the core of why LVN exists.
Curious.Conscious.Change. aligns perfectly with the pursuit.
3-minutes of content packed with tools, exercises, resources, quotes, questions, and ideas.
Fuelling your curiosity and consciousness to drive sustainable growth.
Every edition will make you pause and reflect. I promise it.
Thoughts From A Bench is going nowhere.
It will be dedicated to sharing my reflections on a single topic and will maintain its simplistic journal style.
That’s all for now.
If you read the first edition of Curious.Conscious.Change. — I’d love to hear your feedback.
The survey linked below takes less than one minute.
Live Free,
Niall
